SSL Shopper not only provides SSL certificate for all needs but it also provides online tools to diagnose issues with your existing setup. This includes Letsencrypt SSL certificates.
It is also a great tool to verify that your web site is secure and functioning correctly. Below, we refer to an issue on our web site and how we have resolved the problem by using SSL Shopper tools.
We have been using sPanel for soem time and have found this platform to be solid and very functional, albeit some evolutionary teething issues. So. With our shared-panel client account setup and assigned a main domain and having added several other domains to the account. We needed to change the main domain from our sPanel server panel. This was purely due to our main domain having lapsed as we no longer wanted to keep it – due to GoDaddy increassing prices significantly and there being no compelling reason to pay three times more for that domain when we had other options. This is what lead to the need to change our domain name.
Web Site NOT Secure, SSL Errors
We were of course able to do this without too much effort. Log into sPanel server. Modify user domain and that seemed to be it. However, we then realized that several sub-domains in one of our other domains addedd to our client account were no longer working. We were seeing NOT SECURE and SSL certificate errors wehen we triedd visiting those web sites…
The error is shown in the image at the top of this page.
We realized that it was not just one sub-domain but all of them were exhibiting the same unsafe SSL error message. When we clickedd on the ERROR message in the browser, we noticed that our URL was different to the incorrect-certificate being reported.
FOr example, blog.tamertemel.net was being reported with SSL Cert error and the certificate being shown was blog.bristoldynamo.net (our main domain in our clent account). The system had somehow associated Letsencrypt certificates for our other domain sub-domains to our main domain associated with out account. We reachedd out to sPanel technical support for help.
Our contact there George E was on standby. We had dealt with George before and found him to be very helpful. He has resolved our original issues relating to domain change and trumped our problem once again. It took about 15 minutes to identify the cause and repair the ahlf a dozen sub-domains.
